Certificate Course in Early Childhood Development

The CODL is happy to introduce the Certificate Course in Early Childhood Development, being done jointly with the Faculty of Education of the University of Colombo.

Content :

• Apply knowledge of child development to create age-appropriate learning environments that support the cognitive, emotional, and physical growth of young children.
• Demonstrate an understanding of health, safety, and nutritional practices that promote the well-being of children in early childhood settings.
• Design and implement effective play-based learning activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, and social interaction among young children.
• Engage with families and communities to support children’s learning and development, fostering
  inclusive practices that address diverse needs.

Speaker/s :

• Resource persons drawn from the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo.

Target Group :

• Individuals who have completed their Ordinary Level (O/L) examinations and are interested in pursuing a foundational understanding of child development
• Particularly suitable for aspiring preschool teachers, childcare providers, parents, and individuals seeking to enter the field of early childhood education.
• Also caters to those who wish to enhance their knowledge and skills in nurturing young children’s cognitive, emotional, and social development, thereby contributing to their holistic growth and well-being.

Applying for the Course :

Deadline for applications is on or before 13th June 2025 

• Pay the Application fee of Rs. 500/= (to be paid at any People’s Bank branch)

Bank Details – 

• Once the Application fee is paid, you need to fill the Application form using one of the following methods:
• • Fill and submit the Google form
    • Prepare SCANS of the following documents before filling the form:

        2. Certified true copy of your G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Results
        3. Certified true copies of any other English Qualifications (If any)
        4. Bank Payment slip for the Application fee
