Awarding Ceremony – Certificate Course in Early Childhood Development - 2025, 2026

The Center for Open and Distance Learning (CODL), University of Colombo, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, University of Colombo, successfully conducted the inaugural Certificate Awarding Ceremony for the Certificate Course in Early Childhood Development on 15 June 2026. The ceremony recognized the achievements of participants who successfully completed the programme from both the first intake (2025) and the second intake (2026). The event was held at the Auditorium of the Information Learning Centre (ILC), Faculty of Science, University of Colombo.

The occasion was graced by several distinguished guests, including the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Professor I. M. Karunathilake; the Dean of the Faculty of Education, Professor Samudra Senarath; the Registrar of the University of Colombo, Mrs. K. C. S. Perera; the Director of the Centre for Open and Distance Learning, Professor Sanjeewa Perera; and the Programme Coordinator, Dr. N. M. M. Safeek. Members of the academic staff, teaching panel, administrative staff, and non-academic staff were also in attendance, contributing to the significance and success of the event.

During the ceremony, certificates were awarded to participants who successfully fulfilled the requirements of the programme. A total of 38 participants from the first intake in 2025 and 35 participants from the second intake in 2026 received certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the Certificate Course in Early Childhood Development.
